Cotton Candy
Yes, I’m back!!!!
Missed me?
My hand is still broken but the pain has calmed slightly (hopefully not before the storm) so I feel just about able to write some short posts to keep you updated on style, shopping, fashion, trends and general tiddle-tat! Speaking of tiddle-tat, why not give my friend Lucy a visit to read up on nail art and to see her prize from my Xmas giveaway!
Uni is going well…(I don’t usually do this but…) I received 1st’s for every unit last Semester so I couldn’t be more pleased with myself really! ;-)
How is life - and the Spring/Summer trends that are blossoming in stores across the globe - treating you? The pastel colour palette of the new season is just too beautiful to resist. It is my absolute favourite, I just find the soft colours suit my colouring - and I have a real fetish for anything PINK, so I am really struggling to keep my pennies, (and pounds) in my pocket!
Indeed I think it is about time I re-stated: “My name is Kez, and I’m a (Serious) Shopaholic”. Needless to say I could really do with some anonymous support right now…please?!?!
I think the outfit above is a great way to work the new season colour palette in this, slightly chilly, weather. I love the soft pastel shades on the mohair-style, cropped jumper and the bubblegum hat is one of my faves.
Cropped Jumper - River Island
Hat - Miss Selfridge
Trousers - ASOS
Brothel Creepers - River Island
Necklace - Freedom @ Topshop
I thought this was a really girly yet androgynous mix of styles: the ever-so-girly colours and textures with ankle-cropped trousers and brothel creepers. I love to play around with textures and styles and I think this works the current winter trend and the new Spring/Summer 2012 trend too!
Next time I’m going to mix a nice chiffon blouse and chunky heels to the look for a slightly more elegant and even girlier overall aesthetic - what do you think? Any ideas?
Are you starting to nod towards the new season, or are you all about embracing the cold, the knits, the furs and the fairlisle print?! Why not send in a pic of yourself to help inspire me, others and show off your fabulous style!?!

To be honest I have been feeling a little deflated lately. I’m not really sure why…its so infuriating..it’s “the season to be jolly” after all, and here I am feeling unfashionably flat. What’s that about?! I’m sure with a bit of Mulled wine and Eggnog in my belly my spirits will be instantaneously lifted! And if that doesn’t work then no doubt the presents under the Christmas Tree will be keeping my spirits lifted well into the new year!
So I thought I would mix a little bit of the futuristic metal-shine trend with that of the faux fur/animal-print. I walked in to River Island and immediately HAD to have the “tee and cape” in my life, my way of feeding my body, no-one eats tea and cake anymore do they?
Metallic Tee - River Island
Animal Print, faux-fur-trimmed cape - River Island
Hot Pants - Forever 21 (LA)
Tights - Topshop
Brogues - Office
Necklace - Freedom @ Topshop
Ring - Diva @ Miss Selfridge
I’m not normally one for the the futuristic trends if truth be told. I normally find them a bit too…. non-feminine I guess. I am a girly-girl after all and my petite frame tends to get swallowed up by cocoon coats and shell-tops. So I tend to opt more for the ultra-feminine shapes that flatter the smaller frame. However this top is a bit different to the the usual ‘ode to the spaceship’. Its fgure-hugging for one thing, and the scallop-edges and blush-pink makes it feel flirtatiously-feminine! It’s a win/win in my books!
Have you taken a fashion-related leaps forward lately?
Glitterbomb!
It was one of those “OH MY GOD” moments that changes your life forever. The moment I walked into ALDO and our ‘soles’ (get it) met across a crowded shop-floor. I couldn’t take my eyes off them. They were exactly what I didn’t even realise I was looking for. Me in a shoe - FUN, LOUD, OPINIONATED and JUST A LITTLE TOO MUCH!
Shoes - ALDO
Playsuit - ASOS
I think they are the PERFECT PARTAY shoe, especially for this season! I am a HUGE fan of platforms anyway - they add height without killing the feet - and, I mean, come on, who wouldn’t love statement glitter shoes with a 70s attitude?!
How could I resist? Could you?
